LISA KIT YI KO, O.D.
Dr. Lisa Ko completed her undergraduate studies at U.C. Berkeley and received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Ko was in an elite group of just 10% of graduates that continued to pursue specialty post-graduate training. She completed her Low Vision and Primary Eye Care specialty at the Palo Alto Veteran's Administration Hospital, and has been awarded several recognition in Low Vision. While still in her fourth year of optometry school, she was offered a position to be a student teacher at the university. Additionally, Dr. Ko served as a clinical instructor at U.C. Berkeley's Optometry School to help train future optometrists.
Though she has a lengthy list of professional credentials and accolades, Dr. Ko is perhaps best known for her detailed and thorough examinations and bright, friendly demeanor. She'll take the time with you to explain your eye health and vision conditions. Accessible and approachable, Dr. Ko is always there to answer any of your eye questions whether you're asking for in-depth medical information or just fun eye trivia. |
When she's not busy seeing patients, Dr. Ko enjoys volunteering at the local schools and has dedicated time to help students both in and out of the classroom. She has served as an art docent helping students learn and explore different art disciplines and mediums and has given talks at the school to teach children about eyes and vision. Her dedication also extends to the community at-large. Dr. Ko has served as a co-leader and a treasurer of a local girl scout troop. Under her leadership, she has guided the troop though various community projects including recycling programs, food harvest, senior center visits, and public clean-ups.
